UC Housing

If I live in UC housing and do not share a room with anyone, do I still need to move?

UC has decided at this time to move any student who has a confirmed or probable COVID-19 diagnosis. If you test positive for COVID-19, UC housing will work with you to relocate. You will always have the option to return home to your permanent residence. If you have been exposed to someone with COVID-19, UC housing will work on a case-by-case basis to establish whether it is safe to quarantine in your UC housing. It is important that we seriously consider any exposure that could potentially arise from shared/common areas.

If I live in UC housing and entirely alone, do I still need to move?

UC housing will make that decision on a case-by-case basis. Explain your living situation to the Contact Tracer you are working with and they will pass that information along to housing. You also have the option of going to your permanent residence.

Is food available to me while I am in quarantine and isolation? Do I have to pay?

Dining works through your meal plan to cover three hot meals a day during isolation or quarantine in alternative UC housing. They will work with you on any dietary restrictions or food allergies. If you do not have a meal plan, please mention this to the housing team member assisting with your relocation. We have made previsions for these students to receive meals at no additional cost.
